Would you rather…

We’re nearing the end of our Would You Rather weekender. Do have any would you rathers you’d like to address? Share them in the comments so I can answer them as well. I’ve become comfortable with our WYRs and would hate to say goodbye to it.

Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

WYR 12

I’d rather never use lip gloss.

If you know me even for a bit, you’d know that I don’t wear much lip gloss. What I can’t live without is a lip balm. You know, the one that you apply on your lips before applying your lipstick? The one that will prevent your lips from drying and getting chapped? That’s it. I only use lip gloss when I forget to bring my lip balm and at such times, I try not to apply any lipstick at all.

When it comes to nail polish, I love them but I don’t apply them often so that my nails can breathe and recover from the harsh chemicals that some nail polishes have. Still, I like seeing my nails colorful more than seeing my lips shiny.

What about you? Which would you rather never be able to do?

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

sisterhood1_zpsd02b6750

I’ve seen nominations left and right from the blogs that I follow and stumble upon. I never thought, though I hoped, that I’d be nominated. Thank you Fran of Primp & Paper for nominating me and making a wish come true. 🙂

The Rules:

  1. Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Put the award logo on your blog.
  3. Answer the 10 questions given to you by the person who nominated you.
  4. Nominate 10 bloggers.
  5. Create 10 of your own questions for your nominees to answer.

My Answers to Fran’s Questions:

1. What inspired you to start a blog?

I’ve always had a blog since I was in college, when it was just an online diary to everyone. But since I entered law school, my blogging has become intermittent and stopped altogether. Since then, I’ve started but failed to maintain different blogs until I went to an iBlog event where blogger from different industries shared their stories and the evolution of their blogs. This motivated me, along with very positive and encouraging friends, to continue with my current blog, this blog.

2. Who is your favorite blogger and Why?

This is difficult because I have only re-entered the blogging community and I’m being continually inspired by the different bloggers I meet along the way. But if I go back, I’d have to say that there’s 2 of them: Mic of Without Wax and Eric of The Identity Myth.

These are 2 of my favorite friends who I’ve had philosophical conversations with when I was in college. Their minds always intrigue me, the depths of which I never managed to discover. Although we’ve come a long way from our “online diaries/journals” and they may not have continued blogging or have changed their blogging since, they are my favorites.

3. What is one beauty product that you cannot live without?

That would be my facial wash. It counts as a beauty product right? If not, then it would be my lip balm. I can’t have chapped lips!

4. Red or Pink lipstick?

I’d go for Red.

5. What is your comfort food?

That would be the secret dish between my dad and me: Ginisang Sardinas na may Itlog (Sauteed Sardines with Egg). Yum!

6. Coffee or Tea?

Coffee, hands down. But I take tea from time to time. 😉

7. What was the last book you read?

I just finished the whole Thirst series by Christopher Pike. But that last book I read was Fifty Shades Darker. I’m reading the final installment.

8. What tops your travel bucket list?

Within the Philippines, El Nido or Coron, Palawan. Outside, it would be Bali, Indonesia.

9. What’s your favorite feel good movie?

Pitch Perfect

10. What do you do to de-stress?

Mainly, I practice yoga. When I have the means, I go to Zumba classes. I also reward myself with spa and mani-pedi sessions from time to time.

I nominate:

  1. Char of Primarielyhappy
  2. Louie of louiepilapil.com
  3. Nicole of The Stillness in Moving
  4. Stephanie of Infinite Satori
  5. Jenny of I am J Rose
  6. Monica of Dharma Dreams
  7. Joei of Joei and Me
  8. Fredda aka “Bikini Trekker” of Trekking in the Tropics
  9. Maj of Makeup in Manila
  10. Maria of Basta Igat, Sikat

My Questions:

  1. What is your greatest fear OR what do you regret most?
  2. What’s your passion?
  3. Which among the books you’ve read would you say has left a big impact in your life and why?
  4. What’s your favorite happiest moment so far?
  5. Given the chance to inspire someone, what would you say to that person?
  6. If you weren’t who/what/where you are now, who/what/where would you be?
  7. What are the words/phrases that you live by?
  8. What would you consider to be your home?
  9. If you believe in past lives, what/who do you think you were in one of them?
  10. What wild animal would you have as a pet?

Enjoy! 🙂

Would you rather…

If there ever was a choice, this question is pretty much in the bag for me. I don’t have much to think about, except of course deciding on the type of pictures to use and how I’d like to “edit” them for today’s would you rather.

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or messy bun?

WYR 11

I’d rather be able to wear my hair in a ponytail.

My hair is thin and lacks volume. I compensate this with having it digitally permed and with that, it looks good tied up in a ponytail than in a messy bun, which quite frankly, only looks like a mess if I ever did try. I don’t want to have it teased, if that’s what it takes for a poofy, not-so-messy, messy bun, because it’ll just destroy my already thin hair. Besides, I think the messy bun is too much work, what with the teasing, the spraying, and the no-conditioner-to-keep-it-up hair. Plus, the last time I tried, I had a really hard time removing the pins, clips, ties, etc., I had in my hair. So yeah, I’d stick to the simple, no nonsense, ponytail.

What about you? Which would you rather only wear for hair?

Would you rather…

Here’s to the fourth installment of Would You Rather beauty blogger tag. I just realized, while typing this post, how answering the WYR tag weekly can feel like a monthly interval. The time gap in between feels so lo0o0ong! But I need time to find and edit pictures to portray each WYR question so please bear with me. In any case, you can always find the list of WYR questions from beyondbeautyblogger. It’s thanks to her that I am able to express my creativity this way. 🙂 And answering the tag is so much fun! You should try it as well.

WR4

I’d rather buy makeup.

Would you believe that it’s easier for me to buy makeup than clothes? I suck when it comes to buying clothes. I don’t know what best fits me. I always end up buying clothes that I only get to use a handful of times before I outgrow them physically, mentally, and emotionally. When it comes to clothes, I leave that department to my mom. Yeah, my mom. She’s my fashion consultant. She can buy me clothes without me there with her to try them out and they all fit when she brings all of them home! Plus, the clothes she buys always complements the ones I already have at home! Amazing! Why can’t I ever get how she does it?

So yeah, makeup buying is easier than clothes, I think. For one thing, they’re all consumable so I need only replenish the ones I’ve used up! No problem there. If ever I feel adventurous, well, I have the money (hypothetically speaking) to get adventurous! If I do get to buy makeup that’s not for me one way or another, then I can give them to my mom who’s skin is always adaptable to all makeup! I have sensitive skin, she doesn’t. And her skin is flawless!

There you have it! My WYR for this week. Try the tag out if you haven’t, yet, and comment tag/link to me in your posts because I’d like to know your WYRs. 🙂

Would you rather…

If last week I had a hard time answering the second would you rather question, this time, I had a hard time finding a photo to edit for the third question, which is:

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

WYR 3

Okay. So it’s the artist’s dilemma in me to want to have a good photo to feature. I didn’t want to compare apples and oranges so I searched for just one face sporting different cheek colors. Yey for Emma Stone who can wear either color!

I really am having fun with simple photo editing. I mean, the first two photos I edited were a blast! But enough about that, here’s my answer to this week’s would you rather:

I’d rather have coral cheek.

I was told that I have fair complexion, but I always thought that I am morena. I don’t think fair is the right description of my skin color although I accept that I am lighter than morena. I’m a little in between, with yellow undertone. With this in mind and after many experiments with blushes–sticks, stains, creams, powders, etc.–the orange-y tint or “coral” is more up my alley. Plus, I tend to go for brownish-orange lipsticks. It’s the same with cheek color. I still haven’t found that perfect shade for me though.
