Kawaii Must-Haves: Unboxing BDJ January-February Exclusive Box

Just when I began unboxing january-february kawaii must haves BDJ box exclusiveworrying whether my the BDJ box for January 2015 got lost during delivery, it turned out that for the first two months of 2015, BDJ would combine the two boxes into one exclusive box.

First thing I thought upon realizing this was: Oh no! I think I just wasted my money! I dislike paying for two things and then receive just one, which was my sentiment at the time. But considering the actual price of the items inside, the box is worth more than four boxes.

Thoughts

Price

The box is definitely more than I bargained for. Each BDJ box is worth Php 580, two boxes being Php 1,160. The total amount of the items in the January to February box is, as you may have already computed, Php 2,764. Since I’m the type to always make such computations, having a combined box isn’t such bad of a deal.

The consequence of this, however, is that the delivery becomes unpredictable. For the duration of my subscription to BDJ beauty boxes, this is the first time that they have combined two boxes. I do hope that they wouldn’t make this a habit.

Size

Another good thing about this box, which is almost always that case with BDJ boxes, is that all items are in full sizes. There are no deluxe or sample packs as what most beauty subscription boxes often fill their boxes with. So if I happen to like a product, then I’d have full use of it. On the flip size, if I don’t like a product, then I’d have to the remaining of the full size to either finish off or giveaway/sell.

Contents

When it comes to the items themselves, I have mixed feelings. There are repeat items such as the Pixy Two Way Cake Fit and Blush On, which I got in last year’s BDJ April Box. There’s also the Sunkiller Perfect Strong A, which I got in one of the two BDJ Elite Boxes I bought in July.

As for the Pixy Eye Shadow, although this is a different shade from last year’s, I already have this particular shade having one the Stick It To Win It promo. I have no complaints for this one. I love this particular shade!

For the rest of the items… I’m especially excited with the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion Bright Up. Lately, I’ve been testing different makeup removers and this one I’ve always been curious about.

For the Lucido-L products, I’m not sure if I’ll use them as I have digitally permed (now just wavy) hair and these are for straight hair.

Lastly, with the Pixy Coverlast, I’m neither disappointed nor excited. My skin’s losing its oiliness lately, something I’m not too happy about, so I may or may not try it out. We’ll see.

All in all. I’m not entirely happy. Only the cleansing oil got me excited. I think it shows considering that it took me this long (weeks) before I really opened up the package for an unboxing. I do hope the March box will be an improvement in the sense that there’d be no repeat items.

If you’re interested for a review of any of the above items, just give me a shout out in the comments below so I can prioritize them. I hope you’re not as disappointed as I am when you got yours.

UNBOXING: BDJ December Box

From a Benefit exclusive box last November to this December’s Cover Girl exclusive box, Santa must have listed all BDJ Bellas under “nice” this year. Not only that, all products this month are full sized products, the prices of which total to more than 4x the price of a BDJ Box! Yey!

BDJ December Box 2014

30ml TruBlend Liquid Makeup worth Php 645
11g TruBlend Pressed Powder worth Php 425
3g Cheekers Blush worth Php 395
4.6g Smoky Shadow Blast worth Php 525
13.1ml LashBlast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara worth Php 595

An Eye for an Eye

As always, I’m eyeing the mascara for I am truly an eye makeup fan, especially of mascaras. I just love trying out the different brush types created by makeup manufacturers.

It’s also my first time to own an eye shadow stick so I can’t wait to try the Smoky Shadow Blast. It’s a double ended stick, giving it a multipurpose quality.

Cheek Matte

Cheekers Cover Girl Powder Blush

The header is actually a joke. You know, checkmate but instead, cheek (for the blush) and matte (for the foundation and powder). Get it? 🙂 Never mind. It’s the thought that counts.

Anyway, I love barely there blushes, as if I just naturally have rosy cheeks even though there’s a fat chance of me having them naturally. That’s why I’m always open to trying out different blushes–whether cheek tint or stain, powder, cream, stick, etc. The Cheekers Blush I got is rose silk and promises to give an “easy and natural rosy silk flush”. According to the product brochure, the blush is currently BDJ Box exclusive and will only be available in the market by in February 2015. Yey for first dibs!

For the powder and foundation, I got no. 2 shades, which is a relief. Meaning, they should be compatible with each other. Whether the shade will be compatible with my skin tone is yet to be seen so I look forward to that. I’m still in search of the perfect liquid foundation that’s best for my skin.

Best Beautiful You!

There you have it. Five promising products from Cover Girl c/o BDJ Box. I wonder if this will make me look like Katy Perry as in the cover of their product brochure. 😉

BDJ November Box

There’s always something about a BDJ Box that is a Benefit box. It makes me giddy and taking pictures of the products becomes an art, sort of. What I’m trying to say is… when BDJ Boxes contain kikay products (i.e. makeup), especially one that features Benefit items, something in it inspires. In my case, I just love taking pictures of them despite the feeble lighting in my room.

This will be my third BDJ/Benefit Box. The first one was in March (not much artistic effort done there). It was my introduction to Benefit and I know little about the brand. The second one was in June, which got me excited since I first saw an early post from a fellow BDJ Box subscriber. There were tints! And now’s my third. Three’s a charm right?

7ml Bathina Scented Body Mist worth Php 1,800 @ 75ml
3ml POREfessional PRO Balm worth Php 1,600 @ 22ml
2 pieces of 3ml Big Easy Complexion Perfector worth Php 2,000 @ 35ml
2.5ml High Beam Complexion Enhancer worth Php 1,700 @ 12.5ml
0.10g They’re Real Push-Up Liner worth Php 1,300 @ 1.4g
3g They’re Real Mascara worth Php 1,300 @ 8.5g
0.5g Posiebalm Hydrating Lip Balm worth Php 1,000 @ 3g
samples of It’s Potent! Eye Cream and Instant Comeback Facial Serum
Hello Gorgeous! Voucher

Highlight!

The highlight of this box for me is obviously the High Beam Complexion Enhancer. Since I bought the full size Benetint, I’ve been eyeing this one but not yet sure if it’ll suit me so I’ve been delaying my purchase. It’s a good thing, too! Now I have a whole 2.5ml to test it!

Happy!

I’m also happy that they included another They’re Real Mascara. I’ve been loving the one I got from the June box. The fact that it’s petite is a plus because I can carry it wherever I go and re-apply when I need to (which I seldom need to).

Hope!

As partner to the mascara, I’m excited to try They’re Real Push-Up Liner. The publicity and hype leading to the launch of this product has not escaped me. But the tester I tried at the store got my eyes itchy 30 minutes after application. I hope it’s just because many lashes have touched the tester. I’m still keen on trying it out and excited to do so now that I have my own sample.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Okay, so it’s getting corny. I didn’t intend the previous three paragraphs to start with H’s. But since I’ve type Highlight and Happy, I thought I’d just use Hope instead of Excited. Also, I was tricked by the box into thinking it’s already December because of the Christmas-y packaging. So I think a Ho! Ho! Ho! (or Hoax) is in order as well. 😉

What do you like best about this month’s BDJ Box?

Unboxing: BDJ October Box

Who’d think a box is enough for BDJ Box? This month, I received two boxes from them, the big ones, just because BDJ can’t get enough of giving all of us big surprises. 🙂

Here are the two big boxes from BDJ Box.

wpid-wp-1414321251097.jpeg

This is the primary box.

This is the other box, dedicated to Dial Cleansing Pair.

 Contents

473ml Dial Coconut Water Body Wash worth Php 200
113g Dial Coconut Water Soap worth Php 140 for a trio pack
7 sachets of 1ml Yves Rocher Zero Blemish Gel Cream worth Php 795 for 50ml
500g My Choice Spa Salt worth Php 100
90ml My Choice Hand and Body Lotion worth Php 70
1 pack of 7 vials (7ml each) Dove Hair Fall Rescue worth Php 470
5ml L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser x3 Serum worth Php 1,500 for 30ml
5ml L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser x3 Anti-Aging Day Cream worth Php 1,500 for 30ml
Revlon ColorStay 16-Hour Eye Shadow Quad worth Php 795
Strip RPT Kit containing sachet samples of: Strip Ice Cream worth Php 1,750 for 50ml; Malin + Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub worth Php 1,650 for 220ml; and Malin + Goetz Ingrown Hair Cream worth Php 1,750 for 15ml

Pictures!

Impressions

It’s quite a lot, actually, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use or even try everything. Just after opening the courier packaging, I already smelled the Dial products. It’s amazing! But scent isn’t always equivalent to cleaning so the product’s effectiveness remains to be seen/tested. I find the scent too strong though. I hope it won’t be as strong after washing.

As always, I immediately took the eye shadow palette aside because it’s makeup and I love them all. I’m also curious about Strip’s RPT Kit. I didn’t take a picture of it but the the kit says that if you return the kit to them and buy one full size product, you’d get a 20% off from each. I’d probably try the ingrown hair cream, among others.

As a whole, a great surprise from BDJ Box. Some are too specific for most subscribers to be able to use but I guess it’s just a matter of being open minded and trying them even if they’re not really suited to our conditions.

What tickled your fancy in this month’s BDJ Box?

Top 10 Things that Occupy My Life

occupation [n]

  1. An activity or task with which one occupies oneself; usually specifically the productive activity, service, trade, or craft for which one is regularly paid; a job.
  2. x x x.
  3. x x x.

This is taken from wiktionaryI especially like the idea that it did not associate occupation with work at the outset so I’m working with this definition.

I noticed recently the things that occupy me, not counting my work of course. There are those that I do to while away the time and those that I really make time for in order to do. But without making any distinction and in no particular order, here are the Top 10 Things that Occupy My Life:

1. Reading

I am currently reading the Xanth Series. Since I’ve gotten a hold of the eBook, it’s much easier for me to read them–in order and without much delay in between volumes. It’s a fun read. Piers Anthony has created a fantasy world where all puns are taken literally.

2. Blogging

I mentioned before that I’ve been blogging since college, but it was a time when blogs were just online journals. I ranted quite a lot, threw my “creativity” into the Internet for all to see, and learned quite a few tricks about html to make my blog “pretty”. Then I stopped when I graduated. Now, I’m blogging again with a different purpose in mind. No more ranting, but I’ve yet to define the blog that I have on my hands right now.

3. Game Day!

With friends, of course. This we schedule often and the ideal is to do it on a weekly basis and sometimes at different venues. We’re actually spread out over five cities and there’s just about 6 of us who regularly make it. Of course, the more there are available, the better. We can never get enough players to play the many board games that we’ve bought for ourselves and for everyone! If you want to join in the fun, let me know! That’s one more player and, perhaps, a friend. 🙂

4. Yoga

Stress buster! One of the few things that I will spend money on and make time to be able to do. Currently, I’d rather go to yoga classes so that my form can be corrected by the teacher, if any. I also like the positive energy the class shares every time. The fact that I’m becoming stronger and more flexible each time I go on the mat also helps.

5. Pole Fitness

photo

I’ve just gotten back after more than a year of rest, thanks to my friend who was kind enough to give me a free pass. This kick-started my enthusiasm for pole again. It’s another strength developer, working against my body weight. The feeling I get each time I nail a trick only makes me come back for more. It’s very elating–the feeling of power and grace. Dispel your “conservative” (more like outdated and discriminatory) thoughts for a bit. Reserve it for when and after you have tried a class or two.

6. Zumba

There’s not much classes that I can attend to for this but when there are classes available, I make sure to go. Not only does it satiate my craving for dance, this cardio workout is a great way to slash off several hundreds of calories in an hour.

7. Driving

I do my make-up while driving to work.

Of course. If I wanted to attend those classes, I’d always be driving. There are no near enough studios in my area. Nothing within walking distance. So I spend most of my time driving from one class to the next. I also spend a total of 4 hours a day driving to/from work (doing my make-up at the same time).

8. Make-up

Need I say more? I’m not a make-up artist or anything, I just love how make-up can change how anyone looks whether by enhancing one’s features to be more beautiful or transforming one’s look altogether. But most of the time, I just like trying out different combinations of make-up as well as skin care products. Whatever works for me and my sensitive skin is always the priority so I spend time with all these things. It’s kikay!

9. Surfing the Internet

Part of it is for blogging, the other half is for work, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media updates. Sometimes, I just get sucked into the vortex that is the Internet and only come out hours later. Brain suck!

10. Human Nature

IMG_4753

We made a heart during our Human Nature Dealers Immersion at the GK Enchanted Farm.

I said before that I’m a dealer/re-seller of this wonderful brand. All ingredients and products are sourced and made in the Philippines. More than a majority of the products are 100% natural. If it’s not, then the labels will show the exact percentage. I’ve been a long time user before I became a dealer and I became a dealer initially so I can save on my personal purchases. It was only later that I introduced it to my friends because I’ve already tried the products themselves. So I make time to attend their seminars and research on their products. I’ve done a couple of reviews of their products (Safe Block and Exfoliating Bar) and have lined up some of their items for review as well.
